Saturday Mornings of Archaeology

A monthly meetings programme is arranged between October and June each year with different speakers.  The meetings are organised in conjunction with Rugby Art Gallery and Museum (RAGM) and normally scheduled for the second Saturday of each month.   Therer is no charge to attend and we welcome both RAS members and non-members.  More details of the programme will be added as speakers are booked.

Saturday 10th February 2018:  The speaker is Richard Denning, the subject is Life in Anglo-Saxon England.  A talk by  Richard Denning  in support of Christine Hancock’s book launch of her novel  ‘Bright Sword ’  

Who were the Anglo-Saxons?  What was life like for them? What did they use boiled cabbage as a cure for? How did the Saxons get wax out of their ears? 

 Come and find out the answers to these and other questions. Examine replica weapons, tools and items.

Saturday 9th June:  Annual General Meeting, followed by speaker to be confirmed..
